Jemma trained as a midwife in some of the UK's busiest hospitals before choosing to leave, because she knew she could never truly put women at the centre of their care within the NHS. It was, she says, the best decision she ever made.
Since 2016 she has built a thriving doula business from scratch - three times over, across three different counties. She specialises in home birth, free birth and birth trauma, and is passionate about watching fear transform into confidence in the families she supports.
At The Doula Training Foundation, she brings all of that real-world experience directly into the training room creating an environment where women celebrate and support each other.

Anne-Marie became a doula in 2017 and hasn't looked back — building her practice into a full-time, soul-filling career that she describes as her calling. With a background in project management, she brings a rare combination of professional expertise and deep personal passion to everything she does.
She has supported families through every kind of birth, advocating for women to feel heard, respected and in control. Her particular specialism is the postpartum period; she believes that in a society where traditional support has been lost, a doula can be truly transformative.
At The Doula Training Foundation, she's here to help you design exactly the kind of business and practice she has built herself.

Not at all. Many of our most successful graduates have never given birth. What matters is your passion for supporting families and your commitment to learning.

Doula UK is the UK's leading doula organisation. Our course follows their core curriculum and is independently assessed. On graduation, you're invited to join Doula UK membership.

Yes, the course is often delivered over a long weekend (4 consecutive days), so it's designed to work around existing commitments. The post-course module is self-paced.

Birth doula fees typically range from £500–£2,000+ per client depending on your experience and location. Many graduates recoup their training cost within their first 1–2 clients.

The in-person training is 4 or 5 days. You then have 6 months to complete your post-course module. Most graduates feel practice-ready within a few weeks of finishing.
